Throughout history, horses have played a variety of roles in human society. Some of the key roles include transportation, agriculture, warfare, sports, and recreation. Horses have been used for centuries as a mode of transportation, helping people travel long distances more quickly. In agriculture, horses have been essential for plowing fields, pulling carts, and other farm work. In warfare, horses were used as cavalry mounts, providing speed and mobility on the battlefield. Additionally, horses have been used in various sports such as horse racing, show jumping, and polo. Lastly, and my favorite, horses have also been valued for recreational purposes, such as horseback riding and therapy programs. Here I explore the different hats horses have worn and hope to pay a tribute to them, which they so deserve.
